Necrophobic
NECROPHOBIC is one of very few bands left from the early Swedish black/death metal underground scene that is still going strong and is today considered a cult act from those days, also a source for inspiration for new and upcoming acts of the scene of today. NECROPHOBIC sold impressing approximately around 8000+ copies altogether of the 2 demos and the vinyl-EP during the years 1990-1992. Their lyrics generally tend to revolve around darkness, evil, anti-Christianity and Viking mythology.
“When we started this band in the late 80’s, we went directly for the more dark and satanic way of black death metal, inspired both image wise, sound and musically from bands like Bathory, Morbid Angel, Venom and very early Slayer, which differed a lot from what the rest of the scene was doing at that time. Today, we still keep that vision and have created music based upon that exact vision” (Joakim Sterner)
